The modern undead

I was inspired a while back to draw undead who had persisted through the ages in trying to adapt to modern times.
The premise was that a medieval kingdom fell foul to a plague of undeath. While mindless for a time, the people slowly regained self-awareness and continued "life" as normal. Except without the need to eat or sleep.
Included are a few images where I was just enjoying adding skulls to things.
All of the artwork was initially done in pencil before being photographed on my mobile. Inking was done in Mischief and colour in Logoist 3. I also did a little environment lighting experiment in Blender for one of the drawings.

Deaths touch flower. Pretty much the only reason why the kingdom fell to undeath.
Useful at keeping the grass around it trimmed short.

Off to the ball, gender has become somewhat irrelevant now that everyone's a skeleton.
I chickened out with the colouring as the image reference was of a velvet gown and my colour skills are no where near the right level yet.

Inked only, my inspiration for undead wore off around the time of this artwork. Undead astronauts are cheaper to send to space. Less weight.

While I didn't ink and colour this one, I did experiment with environment mapping in Blender by using a 360 photo of my own room to provide the lighting.
