Wyrmvern - Earliest bird

Digital art that was inspired by the traditional eastern dragons. I had wanted to do a dragon, but messed up the head and it started to look like a beak. So what the heck, a bird wyvern dragon thing it is.

I figured I try speckling to add some sparkle to the feathers. I think I had too much fun with it

Inking stage. I always worry when I switch to ink that it'll look to basic, but then I added the finer details with a thinner pen and it all starts to work again

Initial digital pencil. I tried to do a bit of layout control lines.
